Being Curious About Your Day Tomorrow

Being Curious About Your Day Tomorrow

Hello friend,

I read a really cool thing a couple of nights ago about being curious about our days, instead of thinking about the full to-do list and running through what will happen first, then this, then that, which can produce so much dread and anxiety. Instead, we can pause and become curious, from a position that we don’t know how our day will go. We don’t know if the meeting will go ahead, this person will be there or cancel or be sick. We don’t know that it will be bad, or boring, or awkward or that we won’t have the ‘right’ words. So, instead of dreading my day tomorrow, I’m going to be curious tonight, step away from the anxiety and step into curiosity and openness without thinking of 1000 things that may happen.

Research shows that curiosity is good for brain health. This makes sense to me, because when we instead make assumptions and rely on past experiences, we can come up with wrong conclusions that impact our mental health, relationships and opportunities for positive growth.

So, I am making a challenge for myself each night TO BE MORE CURIOUS about my tomorrow!

Cheers,

Claire
